Daniel "Mr. Brick" Vanpuymbrouck

Daniel “Mr. Brick” VanPuymbrouck, 66, lifelong Superior resident, laid his last brick on Saturday, September 13, 2014 in his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on October 21, 1947 in Superior to Marvin and Kathleen (Allen) VanPuymbrouck.

Dan was employed as an independent masonry contractor.

He married Mary Ellen McCain on June 25, 1966 at St. Francis Church in Superior and celebrated 48 years of marriage.

In addition to his wife Mary Ellen, Dan is survived by four sons, Dan, Jr., Dave, Doug and Dennis (Kathy), all of Superior; four grandchildren, Ryan, Bridgette, Eric and Ryan; one great-granddaughter, Avery Mae; two aunts, Mary Jean Glonek and Marlene Ringer; three sisters, Peggy Honkanen, Cloquet, MN, Jean Ann (Paul) Krivinchuk, Superior, Kathy (Rick) Opoien, Superior, longtime friend Wally Barnard, Superior and former daughter-in-law, the daughter he never had, Angel Homich, Superior and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Timothy and a nephew, Timothy, Jr.

A Celebration of Life and Time of Remembrance will be held from 4-7 PM for family and friends on Friday, September 19, 2014 at the Village Town Hall at 6702 Ogden Ave.

Dan’s sons and grandchildren will be recognized as honorary pallbearers.
