She was born in New Richland, MN on October 21, 1932, the daughter of Edward and Emma (Casper) Shave. Her family later moved to Solon Springs, WI, where she attended St. Croix Elementary and High School, graduating in the class of 1950.
After high school, Darlene worked at the Central Co-op and Wholesale before starting her career at the School District of Superior. She worked for the school district for twenty-one years before her retirement in 1995.
She married Arthur Legore on September 21, 1974, in Duluth, MN. They celebrated forty-five wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2019. Some of her fondest memories were of the twenty years they spent being snowbirds in Lake Havasu, Arizona.
Darlene belonged to Friends of Lucious Woods in Solon Springs for many years, the Retired Teachers since retirement, and Retired Secretaries from the school district. In her free time, she enjoyed photography and loved taking pictures of flowers, animals, nature, and people. She also loved to write. Above all, Darlene was a wonderful mother, stepmother, and grandmother, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
