Darrell Lee Mossberger, 62, Superior, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2019 at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth, MN.
He was born in Superior on March 31, 1956, the son of Claudine Mossberger. Darrell worked as a forklift operator at Owens Forest Products for many years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #80. He was an excellent Motorcross racer, played in the local pool and dart leagues for many years and loved watching NASCAR, Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers and Wisconsin Badgers.
Darrell will be forever remembered for his infectious smile and kindness he showed to everyone he met and knew.
He is survived by his former wife and longtime companion, Susan Mossberger; son, Bryan (Kim) Mossberger; daughters, Tiffany (Dan) Engstrom and Krystin (Mike) Korinek; grandchildren, Jack, Ezra, Izabelle and Dax; niece, Kristina Skipper; special “niece”, Lailani (Higgins) Rochon; special Aunt, Daphne Hansen; and many extended family members and relatives; and his best friend, Avery Lindquist.
Darrell is preceded in death by his daughter, Alissa; mother; maternal grandparents; sister, Alta Linden; niece, Julia Skipper; brothers-in-law, George Hammond and Jerry Kelleher; mother and father-in-law, Frank and Betty Malec; special cousin, Linda Higgins; and special Aunt, Julie Strassburg.
Private burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Superior.
The family would like to thank his Essentia Hospice team and Solvay Hospice House, for their compassion and care for Darrell during his short battle with cancer.
