David G. Cochrane

David Grant Cochrane, 81, of Superior, Wisconsin passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023, at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN.

David was born in Superior, Wisconsin on August 7, 1942, the son of Morley Cochrane and Margaret Grant. He graduated from Superior Cathedral and continued on to receive a B.S. and M.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Superior and a PhD from Kennedy Western University in Wyoming. He joined the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam war.

David was married to Judy Anderson on August 28, 1968, and they celebrated fifty-five years of marriage.

David worked as the Executive Director of Family Forum, Inc. for thirty-seven years and as the Head Start Director Northwest Community Services agency for thirteen years. He enjoyed golf and racquetball and attending his grandchildren’s activities. For many years he was actively involved in the Superior Optimist Club and Alcoholics Anonymous, where he celebrated fifty years of sobriety.

David is survived by his wife, Judy (Anderson Bachinski) Cochrane; daughter, Jeanne (Dale) Myer; son, Casey (Marcy) Cochrane; stepdaughter, Tamara (Gary) Bosiacki; stepsons, Jeffrey, Jack (Debbie), Jim, Todd (Fiona) Bachinski, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and sisters, Mary Cochrane, and Cathy (Bill) Amorde.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and stepmother, Marian Cochrane.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM, Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5th Street, Superior, and will continue until the 1:30 PM Memorial Service with Pastor Brandon Myer and Family officiating. Immediately following the service, Military Honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435 Honor Guard. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Superior.
