David LaLiberte. age 66 of Superior, Wisconsin formerly of Duluth, MN, was set free to be with our Lord on June 3, 2016 at Superior Rehab and
Hospice Care with his loving wife, Barb, by his side.
Born October 26, 1949 at St. Mary’s hospital in Duluth to Paul and Dorrie LaLiberte.
Dave graduated from Duluth Cathedral H.S. and went on to college at Notre Dame. He returned to Duluth to work at Cutler Magner Co.
Dave married his soul mate Barbara Jane Riesland Philipich on January 2, 1993 at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Superior.
He loved hunting with his nephews, Marc and David, and his best friend John Borg.
He was preceded in death by his parents Paul C. and Dorothy M. LaLiberte née Tretten, brother John S. and nephew Second Lieutenant Eric Bertaud.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years Barb, stepson Brent Philipich, sister Jeanne (Francois) Bertaud, Brother Paul (Ann) LaLiberte, nieces and nephews, Marc (Louise) and David (Michele) Bertaud. Christine (Michael) Gaiden, Paul E. LaLiberte, Elizabeth (Richard) Collins, Stephen (Betsey) LaLiberte, Helen (Shawn) Gallagher, Peter and Marc LaLiberte; and many great nieces and nephews.
Special sincere thanks to the staff at St. Luke’s Medical Center of Duluth and Superior Rehab and Nursing Services, especially Melissa and Molly.
Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Cathedral of Christ the King, Superior, WI, and continue until the 11:00 AM, Mass of Christian Burial with Father Andrew Ricci as celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
