David M. Mohr

David M. Mohr, 79, Superior, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital Hospice Care Unit in Duluth, MN, surrounded by a roomful of loved ones.

He was born on September 7, 1935 to Floyd “Bud” and Stenette (Flemmen) Mohr.

Dave served in the Minnesota Air National Guard.

He married Bonnie Ekman on September 12, 1958 at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Duluth and celebrated 56 years of marriage.

Dave was employed as an electrical inspector for the City of Superior.

He was a member of the Superior Moose Lodge #606 and the Acacia and Itasca Masonic Lodge.

Dave was an avid outdoorsman who liked to hunt and fish. He particularly liked to grouse hunt.

He enjoyed animals, camping, traveling and house-boating. He loved doing everything with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family was the most important thing in his life.

In addition to his wife Bonnie, Dave is survived by one daughter, Sandy (Mark) Fulda, Superior; three sons, Scott (Mary) Mohr, Superior, Mike (Diana) Mohr, South Range, WI, Mark (Pam) Mohr, Maple, WI; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Kay (John "Pete") Olson, Rice Lake, MN; one brother, Gary (Sally) Mohr, Duluth, MN many nieces, nephews and his devoted canine, Molly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Aurlie (Glen) Rowell, Joyce Jezierski, Joanie Salmi; a brother-in-law, Gary Ekman and mother and father-in-law, Eleanor and Carl Ekman.

Visitation will begin at 12 Noon and will continue until the 1:00 PM Memorial Service on Sunday, May 17, 2015 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home with Pastor H. Duane Aslyn, officiating.

Dave’s family would like to thank the St. Luke’s Hospice staff and his doctors for the wonderful attention and care they showed to Dave and his family.
