David John Pfuhl

David John Pfuhl, 50, longtime area resident, died Friday, August 2, 2019 surrounded by his family, at home in Superior, WI, following a lengthy and hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born in Duluth, MN, December 4, 1968, the son of Richard and Mary (Meier) Pfuhl.

He was a graduate of Central High School in Duluth. He went on to attend Le Cordon Bleu School of Culinary Arts, graduating with honors. He worked as a Pastry Chef at Red Mug Bakery and as a caregiver for many years. He was also employed with St. Louis County Meals on Wheels and Senior Dining for over fifteen years.

David had a great love of cooking, baking and making candy truffles. He loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren, and loved traveling with Beth and Jim.

He is survived by son, Allan M. (Heather Mevissen) O’Leary, Superior, WI; daughter, Kaitlyn (Devin Elmore) Pfuhl, Duluth,MN; his partner, Jim Jondreau, and his beloved dog, Maggie and her sister, Jess; best friend and mother of Dave’s children, Michelle O’Leary, Duluth, MN: sisters, Pam (Scooter) West, Duluth, MN, and Jean (Tim) Warren, Grantsburg, WI, brothers, Donald , Bruce, Kenneth (Gaylene), Robert (Linda), Dennis (Robin), Barry (Liz), Jeff (Lisa), Keith, and Brian Pfuhl; grandchildren, Brooklyn Peterson, Nova Stoddard, and Mason and Timmy Elmore; many many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews; and special friends, Rick and Beth Fuller.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Richard, Thomas, Allan, and Steven Pfuhl.

Per David’s wishes a Celebration of his Life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 10, 2019 at the Salvation Army, 215 S. 27 ^th Avenue West, Duluth, MN. Fr. William Green will officiate.
