David Patrick Rasmussen, Jr., 70, passed away at his lake home on September 20, 2025. David was born on August 28, 1955 to David and Janet Rusmussen.
After graduating from Superior High School, he entered the U.S. Army on January 15, 1974. He served at Fort Carson in CO, where he was awarded a national Defense Service medal, a Marksman’s Badge, and a Sharpshooter’s badge. After being struck by lightning and a lengthy recovery, he was honorably discharged on November 11, 1975.
David worked for many years at Fagerland Fuel as a delivery driver, furnace serviceman, and eventual owner.
On June 5, 1982, he married Diane Daneille. They raised three children and enjoyed many days at their home on Lake Dowling. They divorced in 2009.
David later married Debra Limberios on October 24, 2015.
He is survived by his daughter, Casey (Jacob) Grangruth; sons, Adam (Lydia) Rasmussen and Eric (Jenna) Rasmussen; granddaughters, Elsie and Eleanor Grangruth; sister, Sandra (Tim) Steffan; and several cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, David Rasmussen, Sr. and Janet Rasmussen; stepmother, Josephine Rasmussen; and several aunts and uncles.
We would like to thank his cousin Sheila for always watching out and making sure he made it to his appointments on time.
We sincerely thank Twin Ports Health Services for their dedication, compassion and care of David; especially Shelly whom he affectionately called the Boss Lady. They made his wish to be home on his birthday come true.
A Celebration of Life begins at 2:00 PM at The Backyard on Amnicon Lake on October 25, 2025. If anyone would like to bring a dish to share or have a story to tell, he would love that.
