Debra Jean Eng

Debra Jean Eng, 68, of Duluth passed away peacefully Saturday, October 2, 2021, at home with her loving family by her side. Debra was born on December 24, 1952, in Duluth, MN to Reino and Aune Elaina (Wiljanen) Hanninen.

After graduating from Duluth Central High School, Debra went on to beauty school and worked as a skilled beautician for many years.

Debra was an avid bowler and played on several leagues. She loved fishing, camping, and spending time at the lake. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Deb’s daughter was extremely grateful to have been her primary care giver over the last several months. Their time together nurtured a closeness they had always shared and blessed her with the opportunity to come to know her mom to be not only the most beautiful woman but also the strongest person she will ever know. Deb will always be remembered for her strength and tenacity and will be dearly missed by all who loved her

Debra is survived by her daughter, Melissa Marconett (David McKnab), Duluth, MN; grandchildren, Denon Perrin (Amelia Jaskari) and their daughter Scarlett, and Serese Perrin (Michael Fritzen) and their daughters, Ava and Aurora; her sister, Lori Hanninen (Jeff Wheaton), of California; brother Craig (Tina) Hanninen, Duluth, MN; her special friend, Pat Beedy, Hermantown, MN; and her beloved canine companion, Boo.

She is preceded in death by her husband and best friend, Doug Eng; daughter, Jodee Eng, sisters, JoAnn Morrison and Lola Porter; and her parents.

Per Deb’s wishes, no public services will be held.
