Debra Jean Gustafson

Debra Jean Gustafson, 66, lifelong area resident, died peacefully, Tuesday, January 18, 2023, at her home in Hawthorne, WI with loving family by her side.

She was born in Superior on December 10, 1956, the daughter of John and Roselyn (Calender) Pison.

Debra was united in marriage to William “Bill” Gustafson, October 30, 1976, and they recently celebrated forty-six years of marriage.

She dedicated her time working in childcare at the Challenge Center in Superior for many years.

Debra enjoyed classic cars and vacationing. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, and she and Bill especially enjoyed their years together as snowbirds in Arizona. Debra was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Gustafson, Hawthorne, WI; sons, Kevin (Katie) Gustafson, Hawthorne, WI, Jon (Ashley) Gustafson, South Range, WI; grandchildren, Boyd, and Connor; step-grandchild, Declan; brothers, Tony (Sandy Jo) Pison, Hawthorne, WI, Steve (Debbie) Pison, Solon Springs, WI; and nieces and nephews, Matt, Cory, Katie Jo, Dave, Kayla, Tammy, and Val.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a nephew Joe, and her brother, Joey.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Whispering Pines Evangelical Church, 7523 S. County Road E, Hawthorne, WI, and will continue with the Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM with Pastor Wes Koehler officiating.

Burial will be in the Bennett Cemetery at a later date.
