Delores I. Zalabski

Delores I. (Wisocki) Zalabski, 94, longtime Superior resident, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton, MN.

Delores was born in Superior, WI, May 10, 1924, the daughter of Anton and Anna Wisocki. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School and was employed as a bookkeeper at Holden’s Insurance for over twenty-five years.

Delores married her late husband, Ed Zalabski, on June 1, 1945, and they celebrated over forty years of marriage before his passing in 1987. Together they had two children, Nancy Ann and Gene Raymond.

Delores loved all aspects of home arts, from cake decorating, to crafting, crocheting and sewing. She made many gifts for her family and garments for herself. She was a member of the former St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, currently St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She belonged to the W.O.W. Club. She met her dear friend, Ellen, who shared many of her same interests, as well as the same birthday, which they always celebrated together.

Delores spent the last three years of her life at Inter-Faith Care Center, where she enjoyed the love and care given to her by the staff and residents alike.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Dennis) Finkeldei, Lake Stevens, WA; son, Gene Zalabski, Blaine, MN; granddaughters, Laura (Trent) Happel, Bothell, WA, and Patti (David) Bruhn, Atascadero, CA; and great-granddaughters, Isabella and Grace Happel.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ed; and brother, Robert Wisocki.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Friday, December 14, 2018 at Holy Assumption Catholic Church, 5601 Tower Avenue, Superior, and will continue until the 11:00 AM Memorial Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Ron Olson as celebrant.
