Denise Dahlen

Denise Dahlen, 49, Mountain Iron, MN, died Saturday, November 14, 2009 in the Minneapolis area while recovering from an earlier surgery. She was born on May 22, 1960 in Superior to Arnie and Karin (Lundberg) Colby.
She graduated from Northwestern High School in 1978. She was a homemaker and a Health Unit Coordinator at various care facilities on the Iron Range.
Denise married Mark Dahlen on October 9, 1993 in Clinton, MN and celebrated sixteen years of marriage.
She loved spending time with her family and friends especially her daughter and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Mark, Denise is survived by a daughter, Jessica (Chris Drahota) Bonazza, Twin Cities area; her mother Karin Colby, Maple, WI; one sister, Carolyn (Patrick) Grube, Poplar, WI; two brothers, Ken (Bonnie) Colby and Roger (Tanya) Colby, both of Maple; her mother-in-law, Beverly Dahlen, Hibbing, MN and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Arnie, maternal grandparents, Swan and Marie Lundberg, paternal grandparents, Waino and Ailie Colby; two special cousins, Lisa Pritchard and Erik Colby and several aunts and uncles.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM Thursday, November 19, 2009 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home. Visitation will continue at 10:30 AM until the 12 Noon Funeral Service on Friday, November 20, 2009 in the Cloverland Covenant Church. Pastor Charles Ells will officiate.
Burial will be in the Finnish Apostolic Lutheran Cemetery, Maple.
Pallbearers for the service will be Jonathan Grube, Anthony Colby, Linnette Bowker, Kaylene Mackey, Rylan Colby and Myron Granlund.
Honorary pallbearers will be her nieces and nephews, Rachel Romich, Nicolle, Emma and Derec Colby, Charles and Chelsea Sterzinger and Greta, Ian and Kieran Lapcinski.
