Dennis Ray Bernacki

June 5, 1944 — July 29, 2019

Dennis Ray Bernacki, 75, lifelong resident of Superior, WI died Monday, July 29, 2019 surrounded by his family at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, MN. Dennis’ last words were “I love you all”

He was born on June 5, 1944 in Superior, WI to Clayton and Virginia (Plachta) Bernacki.

Dennis graduated from Cathedral High School in 1962 and attended the University of Wisconsin-Superior where he studied marketing.

He married Helen F. Hollis in Superior on August 16, 1969. They would have celebrated their 50 th wedding anniversary August 16, 2019.

Dennis worked at Murphy Oil for 32 years before his retirement in 2006.

He was a loving husband and devoted father and brother. Dennis loved sports, especially the Green Bay Packers and Twins. He also enjoyed cooking and coached Little League for over 20 years.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Helen; son, Peter, daughters, Kim Bernacki (special little Girl Ariyah) and Beth Bernacki; sister, Diane (Jim) Stuart and many cousins, aunts and uncles.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Virginia Bernacki and his grandparents.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Bayside Baptist Church, 3915 N. 16 th Street, Superior, WI beginning with a 10:00 a.m. visitation and continuing until the 11:00 a.m. service with Pastor Mark Brookmole officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Superior.

Memorials can be made in Dennis’ name to the Douglas County Humane Society or Bayside Baptist Church Foster Care Ministry.

The Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5 th Street, Superior is assisting the family with arrangements.
