Dennis “Denny” James Houle Sr., 57, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 2, 2018, with his family by his side. Denny was born May 31, 1961, in Superior, WI, the son of LeRoy Sr. and Arlene (Biolo) Houle.
Denny grew up in Superior with many siblings. He always had a beautiful smile on his face, enjoyed playing pool with his friends, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who he loved dearly, loved to laugh and always brought a smile to your face. He was a roofer for many years and a very creative artist, he could turn anything into something beautiful. Was a diehard Packer fan and very proud of his native heritage and a member of the Red Cliff Chippewa Band.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Cody Dean McClay, father LeRoy Houle Sr., mother Arlene (Biolo) Houle and lifelong friend Herbert Hansen.
He leaves behind daughter, Tarah Wehr (Jason), of Duluth; son, Dennis Houle Jr. (April Wicklund) of Ashland, son, Joshua Houle of Duluth, daughter, Nicole Houle (Kevin Temby) of Lake Tomahawk, daughter, Natasha Houle (Cyrus Glave) of Milwaukee, daughter Lea Horton (Jason) of Texas and fifteen grandchildren. He is also survived by eight sisters and three brothers, Theresa Dalton (Jim), Linda Houle (Don), Angie Reszler (John), Sandy Rolandson (Jeff), Liz Case (Peter), Dorothy Frechette (Troy), Brenda Hartshorn (Matt), Susan Houle, LeRoy Houle Sr. (Betsy), Louie Houle (Shari) and Vincent Houle (Jayme). He was loved by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Eagles Club in Superior, Wisconsin. A special Native American traditional ceremony will be held at 2:30 p.m.
