Dennis L. Dufour

Dennis L. Dufour, 70, longtime Superior resident, died Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Villa Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center in Superior. He was born on July 3, 1944 in Duluth, MN to Harold and Margaret (McCabe) Dufour.

Dennis graduated from the former Cathedral High School and went on to R.O.T.C. He served his country in the United States Air Force attaining the rank of Captain.

He married Judy Opferkew on June 24, 1978 and they would have celebrated thirty-seven years of marriage this June.

Dennis worked for the Superior Housing Authority in the maintenance department.

He attended Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church. He loved keeping track of the Great Lakes ships coming in and their departure in the Twin Ports.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Judy; sister, Jill Olson, Duluth, MN and special cousin, Nancy Lisdahl, Superior, WI.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Jack Dufour, sister Maribeth Russell, special brother-in-law Thomas Opferkew and his beloved cat Sadie.

Per Dennis’ wishes there will be no public services held.

The Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior is assisting the family with arrangements.
