Dick Anderson, 53, lifelong Maple resident, died Monday, September 7, 2009, unexpectedly at his home. He was born on November 20, 1955 in Superior to Reino S. and Violet (Tyykila) Anderson.
He graduated from Northwestern High School in Maple in 1974.
Dick married Wendy Pellman on June 23, 1979 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Maple and recently celebrated thirty years of marriage.
He was previously employed at Fraser Shipyards, Cargill Grain Elevators C and D, Elevator M, and the Maple Telephone Company all before he began his employment with Hood Equipment of Iron River, WI twenty-five years ago.
Dick enjoyed helping many people in the area especially his aunt and uncle, Richard and Bertha Mikkola and his brother, Donald Anderson.
He was very proud to have built his own log home and garage where his family has resided. He loved rebuilding and working on old cars.
He and his wife Wendy are members of the Faith Lutheran Church in Maple.
In addition to his wife Wendy, Dick is survived by two sons, Travis and Taylor Anderson, both of Maple; his mother Violet Anderson, Iron River; four sisters, Diane (John Autio) Pearson, Maple, Dorothy (Brian) Michaud, Maple, Mary Jo (Fred) Loustari, Maple, Tina (Mike) Clemmer, Onalaska, WI, Donald (Julie) Anderson, Maple and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1994.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM Friday, September 11, 2009 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home. Visitation will continue at 10:30 AM until the 12 noon Funeral Service on Saturday, September 12, 2009 in the Faith Lutheran Church in Maple. Pastor John Knierim will officiate.
Honorary pallbearers for the service will be Donald M. Anderson, Ted Pellman, Linda Pellman, John Autio, Greg Jatzo, John Anderson, Matt Anderson, Terry "Wayne" Pearson, Fred Loustari, Ann Hollen, Porky Elaine Pederson,Ernie Pellman,John Hood and Joey Grube.
