Dolores P. Bennett

Dolores P. Bennett, 88, lifelong Superior resident, died Friday, June 28, 2019 at Villa Marina Health and Rehabilitation in Superior. She was born in superior, May 4, 1931, the daughter of George and Helen (Utyro) Chicras.

She graduated from Central High School in Superior and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Superior, and worked for the former Bell Telephone and AT&T as a Long Distance Operator for many years before her retirement.

Dolores was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Bennett, February 14, 1953, and they celebrated fifty-eight years of marriage before his passing in 2011.

She was a member of Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church in Superior, and the Telephone Pioneers.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Woodhall and Patty Ann (Jim) Cahill, both of Superior, WI; seven grandchildren, Robbie, Tony, Tyler, Mitchell, Ryan, Michael and Angela; six great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Cindy Bennett, Superior, WI; and sister-in-law, Jody Chicras, of Virginia.

She is preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Bob Bennett; sister, Mary Ann Krynski; brother, John Chicras; son, Robert Bennett Jr.; and brother George Chicras.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM, Friday, July 5, 2019 at Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church, 1111 Belknap Street, Superior, and will continue until the 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Superior.
