Dolores G. Monberg

Dolores G. Monberg, 95, lifelong Superior resident, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at the Villa Marina Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born on January 2, 1928, in Superior, the only child of Walter and Letitia (Harris) Saline.

Dolores graduated from Central High School in 1945 and started work in the office at Russell Creamery. She continued as a secretary for her career and retired from Franklin Foods.

She was known for her careful work, love of shorthand, playful spirit, and unwavering sense of wonder and humor. As a lifelong member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, she served as a youth leader, as an organist and pianist, and as the church treasurer for 40 years. She loved God, walking in the woods, being with family, and spending time with her close friend Cortney.

Dolores was preceded in death by a son Randy Levens (1963), a nephew Dennis Levens (2018), her husband Dewayne Levens (1986), her husband Joseph Monberg (1997), and a special friend Leonard Ward (2018).

She is survived by her daughter Nancy (Scott) Ligman; son Timothy Levens; grandson Ryan (Anne) Ligman; and several nieces.

The family is grateful for the amazing care Dolores received from the staff at the Villa Marina Health & Rehabilitation Center and the Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospice team. The family also thanks Cortney, whom Dolores cherished, for the many years of support and friendship.
