Donald “Don” Edward Eliason, 86, longtime Superior area resident, died Friday, October 09, 2015 at Villa Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center in Superior, WI.
He was born in Ironwood, Michigan on December 8, 1928 the son of Linder and Margaret (Peterson) Eliasson.
Donald graduated from high school and went on to receive his certification as a Master Auto Body man.
He served his country in the United States Army after World War II as a diplomatic currier.
Donald married Gerda Scherra in Berlin, Germany on November 7, l953 and celebrated 61 years of marriage.
He was employed as an auto body man for Westman Auto Body and Larson Chevrolet before being an owner/operator of D & L Auto Body.
He was a member of the Superior Moose Lodge #606, the Superior Elks Lodge #403and AFL-CIO Union.
In addition to his wife Gerda, Donald is survived by three sons, Raymond Eliason, Edward (Chelle) Eliason and Steven Eliason; four grandchildren, Brent Eliason, Cristie (Darren) Gordon, Andrew Eliason, and Jaeden Eliason; one great-grandchild, Eli Gordon, all of Superior; two sisters, Mary Reinemann, Sheboygan, WI, and Sandy Clement, Saxon, WI and many nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert and Raymond Eliason and a sister, Beatrice Alessandroni.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
