Donald "Don" F. Nindorf

Donald “Don” F. Nindorf, 83, Superior resident, died Friday, February 21, 2020 at Superior Rehabilitation Center in Superior, WI. He was born on November 11, 1936 in Superior, WI to Harold and Myrtle (Newman) Nindorf.

Following High School, Don served in the United States Air Force.  He later created a successful construction business and was known for his quality cabinet making. He also built a profitable apartment and storage rental business. Don loved building things with his hands and his mind, and he loved having his sons and grandchildren work with him.

One of Don’s passions was using his team of horses to pull antique sleighs and wagons in parades, horse shows and other events. Another one of his favorite activities was competing in field trials with his renowned Labrador retrievers. Don also enjoyed traveling and spending time with family, whether it be fishing, hunting, spending time at his cabin, or attending sporting events.

Don married Janet Schnell on March 7, 1981 and they celebrated thirty-seven years of marriage before her passing. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Superior.

Don is survived by three sons, Dan (Sue) Nindorf, Sanger, TX, Mike (Patty) Nindorf, Denver, CO and Jon (Faye) Nindorf, Superior, WI; one step-son, Scott (Lorie) Byrnes, Superior, WI; thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jerry (Karen) Nindorf, Sarasota, FL and Robert (Sherri) Nindorf, Holmen, WI; one sister, Carolyne (Russ) Hagberg, Superior, WI and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Julie and second wife Janet.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Christ Lutheran Church, 320 N. 28 ^th Street, Superior and continue until the 11:00 AM funeral service with Pastor David Schoessow officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435 Honor Guard.
