Donald Windsor, Sr.

Donald L. Windsor, Sr., 78, Solon Springs, WI, died peacefully on Sunday, August 14, 2011 in his home following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on November 22, 1932 in Boyceville, WI to Clyde J. and Blanche (Eveland) Windsor.

He was employed with the Town of Bennett for many years before retirement.

Don is survived by one daughter, Vicki Windsor, Bemidji, MN; four sons, Donald L. “Duke” Windsor and Randy Windsor, both of Solon Springs, WI, Rory (LaVonne) Windsor, Spanaway, WA, Leroy (Mary “Louie”) Windsor, Poplar; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one sister, Esther Nelson, Bloomington, IL; one brother, Richard (Millie) Windsor, Boyceville, WI and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Janet and a grandson, Teddy Derick.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the 12 Noon Memorial Service on Thursday, August 18, 2011 in the Whispering Pines Evangelical Free Church in Hawthorne, WI. Pastor Thomas Lindberg will officiate.

Don’s grandchildren will be recognized as honorary pallbearers.
