Donette R. Smith

Donette R. Smith, 58, Bennett, WI resident, died Wednesday, March 1st, 2023, at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth, MN. She was born March 13th, 1964, in Superior, WI the daughter of Orville Priem and Barbara (Grenier) Ellison.

A homemaker and entrepreneur, she owned a retail store (A Step Back in Time) for several years. She married David Smith on March 13th, 1993, in Wentworth, WI and they celebrated 24 years of marriage until his passing on May 4 ^th , 2017.

In her free time, Donette enjoyed doing crafts such as making Christmas wreaths and canning food for friends and family. She was a good friend to many and enjoyed helping her friends and family in any way she could. Donette was always willing to lend a hand to a friend in need.

Donette is survived by her daughter Randi Derick, stepsons, Gary Moe, Mike Moe, and Pete Stathopoylos, her stepdaughter, Colleen Stathopoylos, sisters, Kathy Priem and Cheri Dolson, cousins Barbie and Terry Priem, sister-in-law Becky Matheson, grandchildren, Jordan, Logan, Amelia, Gabriel, Aaron, Ben, Cole, Dexter, Piper, Necco, Autumn, Tyler, Joshuah and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Orville Priem and Barbara (Grenier) Ellison, sisters, Kimberly Priem, and Michelle Priem, her son, William Derrick, and husband, David Smith.
