Doris M. Maki Van Alstine-Goodell-Lunke

Doris M. Maki-Van Alstine-Goodell-Lunke, 64, Superior, died Friday, June 28, 2013 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth. She was born on August 2, 1948 in Superior to Arthur and Helvie (Saari) Maki.

She graduated from Superior Senior High School in 1966 and went on to attend Wisconsin Indianhead Technical Institute.
Doris was employed as a clerk, typist, she did daycare and cared for the elderly.

She was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading, painting with velvet, making latch hook rugs, watching television and spending time with her family. Doris was very proud of her Finnish heritage.

Doris is survived by one son, Darin J. Goodell, Duluth; one daughter, Julie L. Goodell, Superior; two have sisters, Yvonne Scheer and Janet Gruper, both of Saginaw, MN and six grandchildren, Brittney, Arianna, Faith, Cody, Kiley and Kyra.

She was preceded in death by her parents.


Visitation will begin at 12 Noon on Thursday, July 11, 2013 and will continue until the 1:00 PM Memorial Service in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Brown, officiating.
