Doris M. Spencer

Doris M. Spencer, 100, of Superior, died November 21, 2024 at Dove Healthcare in Superior. She was born April 25, 1924 in Superior, WI to Oscar and Gerda Peterson.

She retired after 25 years from the University of Wisconsin-Superior, where she worked in the Jim Dan Hill Library. She enjoyed ballroom dancing and playing Scrabble with her longtime friend Patsy. She was a lifelong member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; her son, James Spencer; and grandchildren Christine Egan and Michael Egan.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Pam (Mike) Wendling and son, William (Maureen) Spencer; grandchildren Bill Egan, Cody Spencer and Kristin (Brennen) McKee and five great-grandchildren.

Her family would like to thank her wonderful caregivers for the loving, compassionate care she received at Harmony House, Dove Healthcare and St. Croix Hospice.

Visitation begins at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 820 Belknap Street in Superior and will continue until the 11:00 AM Memorial Service with Pastor Tanner Howard officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Superior.
