Douglas E. Hanson, 60, Solon Springs, WI resident, died Monday, January 4, 2016 at his home. He was born on June 16, 1955 in Duluth, MN to Melvin and Maryann (Gressman) Hanson.

Douglas was a Duluth Central High School graduate. He served his country in the United States Navy. Douglas worked in the maintenance department for fifteen years at Superior Inn retiring in 2005.

He married Cindy Hartshorn on November 14, 2010 and they celebrated five years of marriage.

He was a member of Hawthorne Assembly of God Church.

Douglas is survived by his wife, Cindy, Solon Springs, WI; one son, Douglas (Charlotte) Hanson, Solon Springs, WI; one daughter, Tonja Hanson, Superior, WI; other children, Paige, Mariah, Rick, Laura, Bob, Paul, Michael and Nichole ; six grandchildren, Gage, Paul, Vincent Hanson and Erik, Gabe and Jessica Sundquist; two sisters, Lisa and Kelly Hanson, both of Duluth, MN; two brothers, Greg and Lance Hanson, both of Duluth, MN, his father, Melvin Hanson and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother Maryann Hanson and brothers Kurt and Chris Hanson.

A Time of Remembrance will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 AM on Monday, January 11, 2016 at Hawthorne Assembly of God Church, 6366 County Rd E, Hawthorne, WI.

Burial will be in Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI at 1:00 PM.

Pallbearers for the service will be Vincent Hoeffling, Paul Horvatich, Lance Hanson, Greg Hanson, Shane Riley and Rob West.
