Douglas E. Ihnken

Douglas E. Ihnken, 72, formerly of Plymouth, MN, currently of Holyoke, MN, died Thursday, March 14, 2013 at St. Eligius Health Center in Duluth, MN. He was born on August 21, 1940 to Adolph Ihnken and Esther Belle Haglund in Spirit Lake, MN and he grew up in Willmar, MN.

Doug was self-employed, installing and repairing heating and air conditioning.

He was a volunteer firefighter in Plymouth, MN and he enjoyed collecting cars.

Doug is survived by three daughters, Gretchen Wirkkula, Plymouth, MN, Margaret “Molly” Laudenbach, Annandale, MN, Sara (Paul) Lemke, Superior; nine grandchildren, Beau, Kati, Kelli, Tasha, Sara, Jake, Grant, Rebecca and Grace; one sister, Patricia (Duane) Walthers, Willmar, MN and three nephews, Chad, Corey and Benjamin Walthers.

He was preceded in death by his wife Yvonne in 2006 and a son Brian in 2009.

There will be no public services at this time.
