Duane M. Beschta, 80, Lake Nebagamon, WI resident, died on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the Solvay Hospice House in Duluth, MN. He was born on June 13, 1936 in Dale, WI to Vernon and Eleanor (Armitage) Beschta.
Duane served his country in the United States Air Force for twenty years retiring in June 30, 1974 as a Major. He went on to receive his Associates Degree in Accounting in Steilacoom, WA. In 1981, he then moved to Bennett, WI where he worked for the Solon Springs School District as a bus driver retiring in the Spring of 1996.
He married Judy Hietala on January 2, 1974 and they would have celebrated forty-three years of marriage in a few weeks.
He was a member of the Minong Bridge Club.
Duane is survived by his wife, Judy; six children, Lynn Stanten, Chino Hills, CA, Laura Sebren, FL, Scott Beschta, Washington State, Lisa Markon, South Range, WI, Darin Beschta, Iola, WI and Kari Jones, Charleston, SC; one brother, Robert Beschta, Corvallis, OR; one sister, Joanne Werth, Appleton, WI; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his son Lloyd in 2008, brother James in 2014 and his parents.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 23, 2016 in the Maple Apostolic Lutheran Church and continue until the 11:00 AM memorial service with Pastor Rick Salmela officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Apostolic Lutheran Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435 Honor Guard.
