Duane A. Stark

Duane H. Stark, 82, Superior resident, died Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth. He was born on April 1, 1934 in Superior, WI to Henry and Tilly (Wanta) Stark.

Duane graduated from the former Central High School in 1952. He was employed as a salesman for Larson Chevrolet in Superior for many years. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge #606. Duane enjoyed regular outings with his longtime friends, Dick Jarvis and Dick Greely. He also was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and avid gardener.

Duane is survived by four daughters, Brenda (Cordell) Palm, Superior, WI, Michele (Tim) Nordahl, Chisago City, MN, Dawn (Steve) Lambert, South Range, WI and Stacey (Scott) Sanders, Solon Springs, WI; two sons, Michael Stark, Duluth, MN and Patrick (Karen) Stark, Superior, WI; ten grandchildren, Michael, Jr., Becky, Nicole, Stephen, Courtney, Casey, Lucas, Natalie, Chase and Carter and seven great-grandchildren; two former wives and mothers to his children, Barbara Stark, Lindstrom, MN and Maureen (Faye) Stark, South Range, WI.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his latest wife Carol Richter.

Visitation will be held at Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5th Street, Superior from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM where a Catholic funeral service will be held at 12:30 PM on Monday, September 26, 2016. Following the Catholic services at Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, a Celebration of Duane’s life will continue at Aces on 29th, 2827 Oakes Avenue, Superior. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Superior.
