Dwight E. Johnson, 70, Port Wing, WI resident, died Tuesday, January 22, 2019 following a brief battle with cancer. He was born on February 27, 1948 in Ashland, WI to Evald and Hulda (Jardine) Johnson.
Dwight was the Mayor of Port Wing for thirty-four years; former Fire Chief for Port Wing and was a self-employed electrician for many years.
He married Louise Nicoletti on May 27, 1965 and they celebrated fifty-three years of marriage. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing.
Dwight is survived by his wife, Louise; three daughters, Tina Johnson and Teresa Johnson-Hals, both of Superior, WI and Angela (Bob) Kazmierski, St. Croix Falls, WI; nine grandchildren, Breanna, Jacob, Kaitlyn, Carise, Nathan, Gabbie, Skylar, Noah and Maya; two great-granddaughters, Priya and Harper; three brothers, David (Joyce) Johnson, Port Wing, WI, Darryl (Kaye) Johnson, Ironwood, MI and Donald (Pat) Johnson, Iron River, WI and many nieces and nephews and his 4 legged companion, Pepper. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Dennis Johnson.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 28, 2019 at First Lutheran Church in Port Wing, WI and continue until the 11:00 AM memorial service with Pastor Nancy Hanson officiating. Following the service there will be a luncheon at the Port Wing Town Hall.
