Edward Lee Forrestal Jr.

February 18, 1959 — November 22, 2025

Duluth

Edward Lee Forrestal Jr., 66, of Duluth, passed away peacefully on November 22nd at St Luke’s hospital.

He was born in Superior, WI on February 18,1959 to Edward Sr. and Donna (Tribbey) Forrestal. He grew up in North End and attended Superior Senior High School. At 18 years old, Ed met his wife, Corrine. They were married on August 21, 1982, and celebrated over 40 years of marriage, while raising their two daughters.

As a kid, he loved to spend time with his dad learning everything he could about hunting and fishing - the things he loved most. As a teenager, he spent his summers out at the beach in California visiting his brother Glen, and even then, making friends came easily to him.

Over the course of his life, he held a variety of careers from management to maintenance. His creativity and thinking outside the box led to building and selling duck blind plans and having a successful business making custom painted fishing lures.

Every fall, you could find him working on his apple press with family and friends filling jugs of cider to share with just about everyone who knew him. He loved spending time with his two grandsons, teaching them how to fish, plotting Nerf gun wars and starting water balloon fights.

He spent countless hours in his boat and in the woods with friends and family – it’s what he enjoyed most. Ed was a member and proud supporter of a local MN multi species fishing league, MMTS, which he and his fishing partner, Jim, took pride in winning multiple seasons.

In the fall of 1985, Ed was invited by his close friend to join his family’s hunting crew. The Learns quickly became family, creating years of priceless memories that he held close to his heart.

Friends were family to Ed. He could hold a conversation with anyone, and people gravitated towards his banter and timeless stories. To him, strangers were just friends you hadn’t met yet.

He is preceded in death by his wife Corrine, parents, and sister, Roxyanne.

He is survived by his two daughters, Lisa Forrestal and Krissy (Russ) Anderson, grandsons, Eli and Emmett, his sister, Iva (Dan) Thomas, his brother Glen Tinker, many nieces and nephews and countless friends.

We will cherish his stories and continue his legacy and love for the outdoors through every cast. Details regarding Ed’s celebration of life will be shared on this page at a later date.
