Edward W. Mohr, Jr.

Edward W. Mohr, Jr. 92, lifelong area resident, died Sunday, August 11, 2019 with his daughter by his side at Twin Ports Health Services in Superior. He was born in Bennett, WI, October 18, 1926, the son of Edward and Blanche (Dondino) Mohr.

He graduated high school and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Navy on the USS Wadleigh. Edward was an engineer for Burlington Northern Rail Road, retiring after over thirty years of service, at the age of 59.

He was an avid sports fan and coached youth sports for many years. He loved the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers, and enjoyed baseball, golfing, dancing, and playing cribbage; he also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening at his home in Bennett, WI.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Inez; parents, Edward and Blanche; brother, George Mohr; and son James. E. Mohr; and his 1 ^st wife and mother of his children, Shirley.

He will be sadly missed by his children; sons, Robert W. (Pam) Mohr, Jack H. (Mary) Mohr, William (Susan) Mohr; daughter Patricia “Patti” Barker; fifteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; six step-children and their families; and other relatives and friends.

The family would like to offer their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Twin Ports Heath Services for the wonderful care they offered Edward over the last two years. They were awesome!

A Time of Remembrance will be held from 1:00-3:00 PM, Thursday, August 22, 2019 at the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5 ^th Street, Superior.

Following the Time of Remembrance, burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435 Honor Guard.
