Edward P. "Ed" Pessenda

Edward P. “Ed” Pessenda, 68, formerly of Chisholm, MN, currently of Superior, died Monday, November 11, 2013 in his home.

He was born on July 9, 1945 in Hibbing, MN to John and Rose (Turk) Pessenda.

He graduated from Chisholm High School in 1963 and went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Bemidji State College in 1967.

Ed married Janmarie “Janet” Anderson on June 3, 1978 and celebrated 35 of marriage.
He was employed as a lead supervisor for Woodline Manufacturing in Superior.


Ed was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Superior, WI. He was the Mayor of Chisholm and served on the City Council for a combined period of twenty-four years.

In addition to his wife Janmarie, Ed is survived by two sons, Ed (Terry) Pessenda, Alexandria, VA, James J. Pessenda, Chisholm, MN; four grandchildren, Ethan, Eli, Evan and Noelle and they are expecting another grandchild from Virginia very soon; one brother, David (Sue) Pessenda, Angora, MN and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and will continue until the 11:00 Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chisholm, MN on Saturday, November 23, 2013.
