Edwin “Ed” E. Hall, 96, Lake Nebagamon resident, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Cedar Ridge Assisted Living and Memory Care Center in Superior. He was born on August 12, 1921 in Hibbing, MN to Judd and Ruth (Golden) Hall.
He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and was a very proud American. Ed was employed as a typesetter in Chicago, IL for many years. He married the love of his life, Margaret Eldridge on September 3, 1946 in Younkers, NY and they celebrated 61 years of marriage before she passed away on August 30, 2008, just four days before their 62 nd anniversary. Ed always showed the love he had for Margaret so much that many commented on it. Ed was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lake Nebagamon and the Poplar V.F.W. and he was an avid golfer.
Ed is survived by one sister, Roberta Burgess, Fox Lake, IL and more that a “good number” of nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Margaret, he is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Elaine Patallo and two brothers Wayne and Merlyn Hall.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lake Nebagamon and continue until the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Adam Laski as celebrant. Military Honors will be accorded by the Bong-Hofstedt Douglas County Post #409 American Legion at the church. Burial will be in Lake Nebagamon Cemetery, Lake Nebagamon, WI.
