Eileen E. Hucovski, 91, former longtime Superior area resident, died Wednesday, February 10, 2010 in Hermantown, MN, leaving 133 descendents. The seventh of fourteen children she was born on September 17, 1918 in Wright, MN to Joseph and Agnes (Pettit) Ciskie.
Her family moved to Superior where she lived most of her life. She married Archie Kilgore who was killed on the USS Indianapolis during World War II leaving her widowed with four small children. She later married Joseph Hucovski having three additional children and living her life as Mom and homemaker. Her husband Joseph died in 1988 after forty-five years of marriage. Mom truly loved the Lord, always trusting Him, showing great faith to those around her. She loved being with her family during her life.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed baking, reading and having her bible read to her.
She had lost two husbands and three children, her daughters Arlene Schmidt and Shelby Kotter and a son Daniel Kilgore, a granddaughter, Kim Chiles; her parents and nine brothers and sisters.
Eileen is survived by two sons, Patrick (Neila) Kilgore, Barnes, WI, Michael (Penny) Hucovski, Green Bay, WI; two daughters, Mary (Ron) Brown, Solon Springs, WI, Colleen (Mike) Koski, Hermantown, MN; twenty-five grandchildren; forty-five great-grandchildren; fifty-five great-great-grandchildren; two great-great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Joyce (Art) Rose, Arizona; three brothers, Darrel Ciskie, Superior, Bruce “Ted” (Georgia) Ciskie, Superior, Glen (Kathleen) Ciskie, England and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM until the 1:00 PM Funeral Service on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Zion Lutheran Church. Eileen’s grandson, Rev. Scott Brown will officiate.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Eileen’s grandchildren will be recognized as pallbearers.
Eileen’s family would like to Praise God for her life.
