Eileen M. Ketola, 72, passed on to her next great adventure on Monday, July 24, 2017 at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth, MN. Eileen was born on April 22, 1945 to Robert H. and Jean E. (Steffenson) Allen. She graduated from the former Central High School in 1963.
Eileen was an avid traveler her whole life. Her favorite places to visit were Europe, Hayward, WI, Central Florida, the Southwestern U.S., and Glacier National Park.
She married Theodore M. Ketola on March 9, 1973 in West Palm Beach, Florida and celebrated 22 years of marriage prior to his death. Ted and Eileen raised their three boys, Matthew, Michael and Mark in Maple, WI. Eileen was blessed with four grandchildren and wholeheartedly supported them in their many endeavors.
Eileen started working in 1965 as a bank teller for the National Bank of Commerce at both Superior and Poplar locations. She loved meeting new people and interacting with her customers. She made many lifelong friends during her 42 years of employment at NBC.
Eileen was a lifelong member of Concordia Lutheran Church. She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. She loved supporting local dining establishments and attending many festivals in this area and around Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Even after being diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, Eileen continued to enjoy life and live each day to its fullest.
Eileen will be missed by all who knew her, especially lifelong friends: Kathy Preston of Waupun, WI and Allaine Quilling of Laurel, MT among many others whom she cherished throughout the years.
Eileen loved her family very much and made family a large part of her life. She was very generous and kind to all, always looking to help those in need.
She is preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
Eileen is survived by her three sons, Matthew (Jennifer) of Maple, WI, Michael (Melissa) of South Range, WI and Mark of Superior, WI; four grandchildren, Jayden, Lauren, Drew, and Alexander (AJ); a brother, Robert (Janet) Allen of South Range, WI, a sister, Barbara (Robert) Clements of Superior, WI; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Essentia Hospice program and the staff at Solvay Hospice House for their excellent care and compassion for Eileen.

A Celebration of Eileen's Life will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM at Concordia Lutheran Church.
