Elayna Jayn Armstrong

It is with profound sadness that we, the family of Elayna Jayn Armstrong, 34, lifelong resident of South Range (Superior), announce her sudden passing on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from injuries incurred in an automotive accident in Douglas County WI. She died at Essentia Health St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth, MN.

She was born on March 31, 1990, to Patricia (Brown) Armstrong and Patrick Armstrong. She will be forever missed by her parents, Patrick, and Patricia of South Range (Superior); her brother Eric (Tiffany) Breezee of Superior; her niece Myranda Breezee of South Range; her nephew Brock Breezee of Hawthorne; Paternal grandfather Jack Armstrong; uncles Tom (Bonnie) Brown, Mike (April) Armstrong, and Steve (Kathy) Armstrong; aunts Bev Berger, Sue (Brian) Horsman, Judi (Kurt) Volkmann, Kathy (Darryl) Duttenhefner, Mary (Greg) Erickson, and Linda (Craig) Merriman; and 22 very close to her heart cousins.

Elayna is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Jim and Jane Brown; paternal grandmother Elaine Armstrong; cousin Amber; and baby Duttenhefner.

Elayna graduated from SSHS with the class of 07’. She went on to receive her BS in biology with a minor in GIS. She worked summers for the DNR, through the Minong Town Lakes Committee as a coordinator for “Clean Boats, Clean Waters” During the off season she bartended. At her time of death, she was working for The Buckhorn, The Moose Junction, and Battle Axe.

Elayna had a very large personality, she was an energetic adventurous woman and loved singing at karaoke, hiking, exploring the North Shore, fires at the Point and anything outdoorsy. Her favorite thing to do in the summer was tubing the Namakogen River.

A Celebration of Elayna's Life will be held from 1:00 - 3:00 PM on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5th Street in Superior, with a Service of Remembrance at 3:00 PM, Pastor Darrell Kyle officiating.
