Eleanor F. “Ellie” (Novack) Hanson, 92, lifelong resident of East End Superior and a member of St. Francis Xavier Church, died peacefully on Monday, October 17, 2016 in St. Luke’s Hospice Care.
She was born on September 30, 1924 to Charles and Helen (Kasper) Zekas.
She retired from Superior Red Owl after thirty-five plus years and treasured all the wonderful memories and good friends she made there. She was a beautiful lady with a quick wit and vivacious personality; usually the life of the party!
Once an avid golfer, she enjoyed mixed couples league with Dewey at Poplar Golf Course and was especially proud of the hole-in-one she shot at Nemadji.
Her favorite things in life were taking care of her beautiful yard and home, and driving around East End in her ‘92 Corolla.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, Theodore “Dick” Novack and Dewey Hanson, two very special friends, Morley Cochran and Roy Granheim and son-in-law Arthur “Art” Felker.
Ellie is survived by her daughters, Theodora “Teddie” Felker and Marie “Mitzi” (Jim Severson) Lahti; five grandchildren, Matt Lahti, Ann (John) Fischer, Jennifer Lahti, Katie (Jim) Povolo and Steve (Audra) Felker; four great-grandchildren, Lauren Ort, Joe and Molly Fischer and Elias Povolo, numerous nieces and nephews and “granddoodle’s” Ingemar and Kai.
She wished to thank her family, friends and neighbors for the wonderful life that she had. She will be missed by many and never forgotten.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 29, 2016 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5 th Street, Superior and continue until the 11:00 AM memorial service with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci of Cathedral of the Christ the King Catholic Church officiating.
