Eliza Brandy-Jane Booth, 47, longtime area resident, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at her residence in Superior, WI.
She was born on January 5, 1977, in Great Lakes, IL, the daughter of Mark Fobbe and Penny Booth.
Eliza was a talented artist with her own unique visions. Through her creative expression she left treasures in this world with the beautiful poetry she wrote and her many amazing paintings. With her fun-loving nature and hilarious sense of humor, she was always up for shenanigans or cracking a good joke and sharing her contagious laughter. She loved music and dancing, moving with grace to the music around her when she was otherwise klutzy in her natural state. A free-spirited woman curious about everything, Eliza had the heart of a gypsy with a personality you could never forget, making her home wherever she landed, leaving her imprint on the hearts and lives of those she met along the way. She loved horror movies, chocolate and Laffy Taffy and could cook a mean pork chop or liver. She appreciated the beauty in all things, from hair and makeup and her dynamic wigs, to her love for animals and the simplistic beauty of mother nature where she found solace and great peace, especially sitting alongside Lake Superior. Eliza’s rivers ran deep beyond what the outside world got to see. She was a force to be reckoned with! With her unyielding strength and a sensitive soul, she loved fiercely and wanted to be loved. She was insightful and compassionate and stood for human decency, always rooting for the underdog and believed strongly in standing up for them. She was an intuitive and honest woman, never afraid to speak her truth or to let you know where you stood. She valued her family and had a huge “chosen family” that were all close to her heart no matter the distance she traveled.
Eliza’s absence in this world is felt deeply and her presence is missed by all who were blessed to share space with her.
She is survived by her son, Kyle Carl and grandson, Skylar; father, Mark Fobbe; sister, Josie Fobbe; brother, Thomas Booth; her dear friend and longtime companion, Melissa “NeeNee” Duffert; several aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and many, many dear friends that she considered her chosen family.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Penny Booth.
A Celebration of Eliza’s Life will be held from 12:00-2:30 PM, Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5th Street, in Superior, with a Time of Remembrance and Shared Memories to begin at 2:00 PM.
