Elna Karra

April 28, 1917 — January 31, 2010

Elna M. Karra, 92, Superior, died Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Villa-Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on April 28, 1917 in Maple, WI to Charles and Hilda (Soyring) Jarvi.
She attended Maple Corner School and received her high school diploma in 1934.
She had been employed as a manager in the Hosiery and Stationary Department at Roth Brothers Department Store.
Elna was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and the Faith United Methodist Church Women. She loved gardening, baking, knitting, sewing, crocheting, and reading, mostly biographies and historical fiction.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan (Brian) Holley, Superior, Joanne (James) Barber, Plymouth, MN; five grandchildren, Steven, James, Brian, Jonathan and Katherine; three great-grandchildren, Colin, Claire and Garrett; one sister, Vienna Polaski, Superior and many nieces and nephews.
Elna is preceded in death by her husband John on July 20, 2006 after sixty-eight years of marriage; her parents; two sisters Auni Johnston and Ailie Mikola and one brother, Uno Jarvi.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until the 11:00 Memorial Service on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the Faith United Methodist Church. Pastor Joel Certa-Werner will officiate.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
