Elva Ann Swanson

October 29, 1949 — June 22, 2013

On June 22, 2013, Elva Ann (Botosh) Swanson, 63, of Superior, WI, went to her eternal home after a courageous battle with cancer. She died in her home with family around.

She was born in Ashland, WI to William Joseph and Lily Angeline (Martell) Botosh on October 29, 1949.

She married Bret Harry Swanson on June 14, 1969.

She attended the Dewey-Borea Gospel Tabernacle (little church) in Superior. She helped with school, 4-H and Girl Scouts. She loved to be outdoors gardening or working with the animals on our little hobby farm.

She enjoyed drawing, painting, sewing, crocheting and doing other crafts. She enjoyed going fishing, driving her race car, and dancing the socks off someone. But the thing that bought Elva the greatest joy was her family: watching her girls turn into young ladies, her grandchildren playing sports and doing their other activities and family holiday get together. She enjoyed taking day trips with family and visiting with family and friends.

Elva is survived by her 5 girls Angel (Donald) Carlson and their son Donald “D” of Poplar, WI; Theresa (Robert West)Swanson and her children Danielle “Dani” Hakkila, Dreammarais “Dream” and Oliver “Ollie” West of Parkland, WI and Superior, WI; Darlene (Jason) DeRosia and their children Dalton and Daylyn of Oakland, WI; Marlene Swanson of Superior, WI; Casey (John Engelbrecht)Swanson and her daughter Alexa of Superior, WI. Her mother Lily Botosh of Castro Valley, CA, her siblings George (Brenda) Botosh of Canton TX, Kenny Botosh of Iron River, WI, Rodger (Mary) Botosh of Iron River, WI, Alta Young and Lori Botosh of Castro Valley, CA.

Mom is united with her husband Bret Swanson, her father William Botosh, her nephew William (Buck) Botosh and other family and friends in death.
