Elvie V. Perala, 96, Superior, died Sunday, June 27, 2010 in Middle River Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on December 8, 1913 in Maple to William and Hilja (Autio) Olson.
She was employed as the manager of the former Mayeton Hotel retiring in 1975.
She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, the Eagles Club and the Democratic Party.
Elvie enjoyed spending time at the cabin on the Brule River with her husband Reino.
She also enjoyed cooking, fishing and canning anything that you can imagine. She was a very kind and caring person. She was an exceptional mother and grandmother.
She is survived by two sons, Ronald (Julie) Perala, Brule, WI, Randy (Susan) Perala, Maple, WI; two grandchildren, Erick Perala, Benton, WI and Matt Perala, Brule, WI; two sisters, Emma (Arnold) Mattson, Superior, Edna Selleck, Duluth, MN; one brother, Norman (Ruth) Olson, New Prairie, WI and several nieces and nephews.
Elvie was preceded in death by her husband Reino, her parents; six brothers, Walter, Eino, Reino, Richard, Ben and Mathias Olson and one sister Hilja Koski.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Friday, July 2, 2010 until the 11:00 AM Funeral Service in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Gullicksrud of Peace Lutheran Church in Maple, officiating.
Burial will be in the Finnish Apostolic Lutheran Cemetery in Maple.
Pallbearers will be Erick and Matt Perala, Sandy Siekkinen, Susan Gustafson, Linda Frederick, and Carol Sears.
Elvie’s family would like to extend their thanks to the entire staff at Middle River Health and Rehabilitation Center for the care and compassion during Elvie’s stay.
