Ernest E. Saari

Ernest E. Saari, 90, Maple, WI resident, died Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at the Superior Rehabilitation Center in Superior, WI. He was born on March 10, 1928 in Maple, WI to Matt and Hilda (Aho) Saari.

Ernest was employed as a grain inspector for Farmers Union Elevator (Harvest States) retiring after thirty-eight years of service. He enjoyed a lifetime of hunting and fishing in the Brule River area.

Ernest is survived by three sons, Dale (Donna) Saari, Waterloo, WI, Danny (Kay) Saari, Ashland, WI and Daryl (Lynn) Saari, Rochester, MN; six grandchildren, Lynsey, Liisa, Lonna, Deborah, Trent and Kayla; five great-grandchildren, Aydin, Averie, Isaac, Chase and Gunnar; one brother, Raymond Saari, Maple, WI and many nieces, nephews, friends and family in the community especially the Lahti family. He is preceded in death by his wife Lillian in August 2015, his parents, brother Arnold Saari and son Douglas.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5 ^th Street, Superior and continue until the 11:00 AM memorial service with Pastor Victor St. George of Zion Lutheran Church officating. Burial will be in Maple Memorial Cemetery in Maple, WI.
