Evelyn A. Brunell, 95, longtime Superior resident, died on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Twin Ports Health Services in Superior, WI. She was born on July 18, 1922 in Hoople, ND to Gust and Hulda (Danielson) Lundquist.
Evelyn was employed as a nurse’s aid for the former St. Mary’s, Superior Memorial and St. Joseph’s Hospitals in Superior for many years. She previously owned and operated the former Brunell Imports in Solon Springs for many years with her husband Paul.
She was a former member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Superior. Evelyn was a foster grandparent and a wonderful cook who made the best rice pudding and potato dumplings. She also loved music.
Evelyn is survived by one daughter, Carol (Robert) Nett, Duluth, MN; three grandchildren, Robbie (Valerie) Robbins, Winter, WI, Linda Farrell, Duluth, MN and David R. (Patty) Nett, Superior, WI; four great-grandchildren, Derek and Katie Farrell and Barbie and Steven Nett; sister-in-law, Barbara Lundquist, Superior, WI and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her first husband Lester Robbins, second husband Paul Brunell, son Robert Robbins, daughter-in-law Ginger Robbins, sisters, Florence Johnstad and Helen Ceminski and brothers, Clifford, Ensel, Charles and Eugene Lundquist.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Darrow Road Wesleyan Church, 4020 S. Darrow Road, Superior and continue until the 11:00 AM memorial service with Pastor Mark Holmes officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Superior.
