Evelyn M. Ellis

Evelyn Marie Ellis, 69, lifelong Superior resident, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at her home. She was born October 8, 1953, the daughter of Jim and Genevieve (Wermter) Williams.

She married Thomas Ellis in Superior on May 18, 1984. They spent 39 wonderful years together before her passing.

Evelyn spent most of her years at home raising their two sons. She volunteered as a school crossing guard for the Superior School District and did some PCA work for the Challenge Center after her sons were grown.

Evelyn’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family. Especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved playing Bingo and going outdoors to do some fishing. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Tom Ellis, Superior; sons Jim (Jennifer) Berka, South Range and Todd Williams, Superior; four grandchildren, Emily (Austin Ward) Berka, Kylie (Jorden) Bernard, Payton Berka, and Tyler Berka, all of Superior; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Vicky (Dale) Lisdahl, Superior and Peggy Helskie, Duluth; brothers Jim (Julie) Williams and Greg Williams, both of Superior; and several nieces and nephews.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be held at a later date.
