Evelyn "Lovey" Sletten

Evelyn “Lovey” Sletten, 59, lifelong Lakeside resident, lost her two year battle with cancer on Thursday, October 24, 2013 surrounded by her family and friends.

She was born on November 10, 1953 to Marvin and Ellen Gronroos .

She graduated from Northwestern High School in 1972. She went on to WITC where she received nursing certification.

Lovey married her husband George on July 30, 1993 and the recently celebrated their 20th anniversary.

She worked as a C.N.A. in Superior for over twenty years.

She loved to play darts and horse shoes, she also loved camping, fishing and traveling.

She will be sadly missed by many people.

Lovey was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Jerry and Marvin, Jr.; a sister Marcia and a nephew John.

In addition to her husband George, she is survived by a daughter, Nancy (Jeff) Smith; Fall Creek, WI; two sons, Chad (Rhonda Berg) Sletten, Superior and Brian (Sue Rich) Sletten, Superior; a grandson, Jarret Smith; three granddaughters, Alesha Smith, Lexi and Kendall Sletten; a sister, Lynette Tadevich, Duluth, MN and many nieces and nephews and her two favorite puppies, Lucy and Trixie.

She touched the hearts of everyone that knew her.

Visitation will begin at 11:30 AM and will continue until the 12:30 PM Memorial Service on Saturday, November 2, 2013 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home with Rev. Sarah Kerkes, of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, officiating.

Inurnment will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
