Everett E. Schaefer, 85, Superior, died Thursday, May 24, 2012 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, MN. He was born on March 14, 1927 in Minnesota to Louis and Gladys Schaefer.
On July 5, 1947 he married Esther Sears and they celebrated sixty-four years of marriage.
He and his wife Esther are the owner/operators of the East End Café. He was an avid racing fan, enjoyed buying and selling antiques, loved working on automobiles and hunting with his son Russell who lost his life while serving his country in the United States Army. Everett always enjoyed helping others when he saw the need, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Esther, Everett is survived by two sons, Steven (Lori) Schaefer and Marvin Schaefer, both of Superior; two daughters, Cindy Spiering, Superior and Terry (Dennis) Spinner, Gordon; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roy (Charlotte) Schaefer, Garden Grove, CA; Delbert (Florence) Schaefer, Thorpe, WI and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Michael S. Schaefer; one son, Russell Schaefer and a brother Joe Schaefer.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Funeral Service on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Darrow Road Wesleyan Church with Lay Minister, James McCusker, officiating.
Burial will be in Veteran’s Memorial Park in Greenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers for the service will be his grandsons, Shawn Spiering, Dennis, Jr. and Chad Spinner and his great-grandsons, Shane, Ryan and Tony Schroeder.
