Finley R. McCoy, 41, East End Superior resident died Friday, November 22, 2013 at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth, MN., following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on June 12, 1972 in Pineville, Kentucky, the son of James A. and Erma (Shorter) McCoy.
Finley was employed by the School District of Superior as a School Bus Driver.
He loved camping and enjoyed fishing even through his sons caught all the fish.
Finley is survived by twin sons, Charles and Benjamin McCoy, Superior, five stepsons, Jason (Angel) Haworth, Green Bay, WI, Nick (Stephanie) Haworth, Green Bay, WI, Dan (Heather) Haworth, Superior, Mark Haworth, Superior, Steven (Rachael) Brown, Superior, Mother, Erma (Mark) Westfall, Niles, Michigan, one brother, David McCoy, Niles, Michigan, two sisters, Mary (Greg) Johnson, South Bend, Indiana, and Sarah (Gabe) Hein, Niles, Michigan, and two nephews, sister and brother-in-laws, Margaret and Phil Smith, Superior, James and Kathy Haworth, Superior, and Robert and Terri Haworth, Minneapolis, MN, four granddaughters, four grandsons and one grandson due in December.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy (Haworth) McCoy, on May 27, 2008 and his father, James A. McCoy.
The McCoy family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Solvay Hospice House for the wonderful care they offered during his time at Solvay, and also heartfelt thanks to Dr. Friday and Dr. Normand for their kindness and assistance through-out his Illness.
A Celebration of Life and time of remembrance will be held at the Eagles Club, 1710 N 12th St, Superior, WI on Sunday, December 8, 2013 from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM.
Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery, Hawthorne, WI.
