Florence "Evelyn" E. Jaques

Florence “Evelyn” E. Jaques, 91, lifelong Superior resident, died Friday, November 24, 2017 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN. She was born on May 17, 1926 in Superior, WI to Louis and Mary (Wantula) Fleming.

Evelyn was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Eagles Club Aerie 80, Belgium Club, Superior Women’s Bowlers Association, St. Francis Travelers Club and a former member of the Superior Moose Lodge #606. She married Alphonse “Al” Jaques on October 21, 1950 and they celebrated thirty-five years of marriage before his passing in June of 1986. She loved cooking, playing bingo, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends in Solon Springs.

Evelyn is survived by three daughters, Mary Lee Jaques, Superior, WI and Sandra Lee Lillo, Leesburg , FL and Laura Lee (Danny) Flynn, Boca Raton, FL; four grandchildren, Timothy Lillo, Leesburg, FL, Alphonse Chesky, Superior, WI, Jessica Lee Flynn and Jacquelyn Lee Flynn, both of Boca Raton, FL; four great-grandchildren, Timothy and Tyler Lillo, Leesburg, FL, Madison Lee and Carter Jay, Boca Raton, FL. She is preceded in death by her husband Alphonse and her parents.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Superior.
