Floriann “Flori” M. Golat, 91, lifelong Foxboro/Superior area resident, died Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Villa Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center in Superior. She was born on April 19, 1928 in Superior, WI to Obediah and Louella (LeRoux) Workman.
Flori at the age of 42 successfully completed her LPN training and had a career that lasted over twenty-four years at Superior Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1994. She married Peter Paul Golat on July 3, 1953 and they celebrated forty-eight years of marriage before his passing in December of 2002.
Flori was a longtime member of St. Williams Catholic Church in Foxboro. She was very active in local craft and social clubs. She treated everyone she met with respect and understood the value of friendships and human dignity. She loved hosting events, cooking meals for others, and making holidays memorable.
She is preceded in death by her husband Peter, her parents, sister Sharon Conroy and brothers Louis “Ralph” and Roger Workman.
Flori is survived by five daughters, Cheryl (Richard) DeDominces, Kathleen (James) Pogue, Rosalie (Jay) Gallagher, Patti (Steve) Cwodzinski and Cheryl Alexander; two sons, Peter Golat and Steve (Jay Meekin) Golat; eleven grandchildren, Melissa (Craig) Capan, Stacie (Dano) Rozowski, Alan (Cameo) DeDominces, Renee (Kat Todd) Pogue, Steven Pogue, Peter J. Golat, Ryan (Melissa) Gallagher, Shannon (Autumn) Gallagher, Kathryn (Kostiantyn) Korchak, Erica (Matt) Simonson and John Cwodzinski; ten great-grandchildren, Sean (Alexis) Rozowski, Bekah Rozowski, Madeline Capan, Lauren Capan, Cooper DeDominces, Tucker DeDominces, James Gallagher, Henry Gallagher, Elliot Simonson and Nadiya Korchak; one sister, Patricia Charles; one brother, Patrick Charles and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff at Villa Marina for the wonderful care Flori received during her stay.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM on Monday, May 6, 2019 at St. Williams Catholic Church, Pattison Park and will continue until the 11:00 AM Memorial Mass with Rev. Fr. David Neuschwander as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Superior, WI.
