Floyd Kaufman

Floyd Kaufman, 82, Superior, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2014 in his home in Superior, surrounded by his family. He was born on January 5, 1932 in Barnes, WI to Alfred and Clara (Norton) Kaufman and was raised by Fred and Elizabeth Kaufman.

He served his country in the United States Air Force.

He was employed at Great Lakes Storage in the warehouse.

Floyd was a member of the American Legion Post #2930, Superior Men’s Bowling Association and proud to be a member of the Teamsters Union.

He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, Wisconsin Badger fan, Milwaukee Brewers fan and a NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time at his cabin in Hayward, WI and loved spending time with family and friends especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Floyd is survived by four daughters, Kim (Ed) Routley, Superior, Pam Shofner, Superior, Lynne Gunnon, Superior, Laura (Raeann) Kaufman, Sueprior; three sons, Fred (Greta) Kaufman, Superior, Roo (Diane) Kaufman, Gary New Duluth, MN, Ted Kaufman, Superior, WI; 13 grandchildren, Christina, Jason, Troy, Eric, Holly, Trevor, Michelle, John, Stephanie, Justin, Jacob, Zachary and Spencer; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Margie Kesler, Iron River, WI; one brother, Chuck Daly, Superior; one special niece Mitze and several other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife and love of his life, Lillian in April 2012; two sisters, Gretchen Barnes and Bonnie Senske; three brothers, Walter, Bud and Leroy; one grandson, Codie Routley and a son-in-law, Larry Gunnon.

Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM and will continue until the 4:00 PM Memorial Service on Monday, September 8, 2014 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home with Floyd’s granddaughter, Stephanie Peterson, officiating, where Military Honors will be accorded.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 10:00 AM.
